Christopher Daugherty led the Greene County football team in tackles during the Rams’ 5-5 season that saw the team finish in third place in Class 2A District eight, win a first round playoff game, and advance to the Round of 16. Daugherty had 72.5 tackles, 37 of those solo stops from his middle linebacker position. He averaged eight tackles per game despite missing one contest.
Head coach Caden Duncan saw his defense be solid most of the time, but during the late season three game winning streak in weeks seven, eight, and nine, the Rams allowed just 7, 13, and 6 points. Daugherty, as the middle linebacker, was a key part of the defense.
Daugherty also carried the ball 12 times for 70 yards, averaging 5.8 yards per carry, and played on several of the special teams units. He’s the only Ram junior to be named to the All-District first team, joining sophomore Trevon Keely, and seniors Bryce Habben, Kamden Kinne, and Nicholas Stream.
