An organization from Adel gifted the Perry Food Pantry with a generous donation.

Purpose Bound, who are a group of businesses from Adel that meet once a quarter, awarded the food pantry with $7,000. Board Member Barry Boorn describes that the group will vote on a charitable organization to donate money to every quarter and the Perry Food Pantry was the recipient in the month of November. Food Pantry Manager Lou Hoger feels honored to inherit such a large donation from a neighboring community.

“We are extremely grateful for that. This was an outstanding thing, and the fact that it came from outside our community, that’s especially significant.”

Hoger acknowledges that the $7,000 from Purpose Bound is the second largest donation the food pantry has received, next to Tyson Food’s $10,000 that was given earlier this year. The Perry Food Pantry, 3112 Willis Ave P.O. Box 156, is open Tuesday’s from 10am-12:30pm and Thursday’s from 3-6pm. People are encouraged to drop off food anytime, but a monetary donation must be made while the pantry is open.
