Region XII Council of Governments has a grant program available to firefighters.

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant opened November 12th, and will close on December 20th. Interested departments should apply as soon as possible, with a few items that can be completed to make the application process smoother. To have a competitive application, Region XII mentions that fire departments must have their SAM.gov registration up to date, then should also complete a needs assessment and obtain an informal cost quotation. Last year’s program received over 7,000 applications, with only 1,635 awards handed out. Region XII staff members will help in preparing the application at no cost.
