The Stuart City Council met in regular session Tuesday night due to Veterans Day on Monday.
The Council approved compensation time for the Street Department, along with pay estimate three for $426,213.60, change order three from $37,065 to $41,043.48 and change order four of $16,416.75, all regarding the 2023 Sanitary Sewer project. They also approved change order five for $4,875 and change order six for $200, along with the final acceptance of project for the Safe Routes to School project, as well as the release of retainage after final acceptance of $7,452.87, also for the Safe Routes to School project, contingent on some concrete paneling being fixed.
The Council then tabled a decision on entering an agreement with GTCR Land, LLC, and approved an amendment to the Urban Renewal Plan, a painting bid for the Stuart Depot and the 2024 Tax Increment Finance Certificate. They also approved employee health insurance rate increase of three percent, an agreement for covenants and restrictions for Aust Hotels (the Stuart Hotel), along with the second payment to Aust Hotels, LLC for the downtown housing grant and request funding from the state of Iowa.
