The Stuart Public Library has a few events and closings coming up this month.

Librarian Rachel Majerus says that on Monday, the library will be closed for Veterans Day, then the next Books and Badges program will be on November 14th with Stuart Police Sergeant Katie Guisinger at 10am, and at 6pm they will begin their Library Foundation Auction, which is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Foundation. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio they will also have a Welcome to Medicare event.

“So if you are getting close to retirement age, starting to think about Medicare and what’s in your future, then we will be having a program provided by Senior Health Insurance Information Program, or SHIIP, and they’re going to come out and go over Medicare parts A and B, the benefits, prescription drug benefits of Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare supplemental insurance, and identity Medicare fraud will also be covered in this.”

Majerus mentions that the library does ask that those interested in the Welcome to Medicare event on November 16th will need to call ahead of time so they know how many will be in attendance. The number for the library is 515-523-2152.
