The Perry Jayette Softball team closed out their most successful year in more than 10 years this past summer, when the Jayettes finished 18-12-1. Maybe most impressive was their final loss of the year to eventual state champion Dallas Center Grimes. Perry took the Fillies to the wire losing the Regional Semi-Final by a score of  1-0. Since that win for Dallas Center Grimes, the Fillies have followed up with a 7-0 Regional Final win against Boone, a First Round 12-2 thrashing of Le mars at the State tournament, and a 9-0 trouncing of Norwalk in the State Semi-Final, so we asked Head Coach Tina Kenney, how does she keep the momentum during the off season. “Ya obviously you don’t want the season to end but you know before we make it to the state tournament but you know we are obviously very pleased with the way that our kids reacted and performed and that was a great game, and state quality game I thought with the Regional Semi-Final when we ended up losing. Some great momentum to take into the postseason, some fall stuff.” The Perry Jayette Softball team will try and replace three key Seniors, in Julie Diw, Lindsey Kunch, and Kylie Brandt.
