Adel-DeSoto-Minburn’s Junior Lauren Hagedorn has made a decision pertaining to the future of her collegiate athletic career.

Hagedorn has verbally committed to Iowa State University to continue her softball career, starting in fall of 2026. During the 2024 season as a sophomore, Hagedorn was ADM’s leader in homeruns with 13. She also had 53 hits, 28 singles, 11 doubles, one triple, 33 Runners Batted In (RBI’s) and scored 25 runs for the Tigers. Hagedorn was a stellar pitcher as she played in 34 games, struck out 253 batters and allowed 52 walks in 196 innings pitched, finishing with a record of 19-7. Hagedorn still has two full seasons of softball with ADM.

The Tigers completed the 2024 season 31-10 overall (13-3; 2nd in the Raccoon River Conference), beating Winterset 6-0 to advance to their fourth consecutive state tournament. They went onto defeat Fort Dodge (2-0), then knocked off the top seeded North Polk Comets (7-2) prior to ultimately falling to Carlisle 7-6 in an entertaining Class 4A State Championship.
