The Class 3A Cross Country Race is taking place tomorrow in Fort Dodge, featuring runners from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School.
The Tigers are sending Freshman Elliotte Von Roden as well as their entire boys team to run at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in hopes to place well at the state meet. Von Roden qualified by making it inside the top 15 at the state qualifying meet in Harlan with a time of 20:36 overall in the 5K. The boys team marked second in the meet, qualifying for state for the fifth straight year. Senior Torin Timmerman led the way with a time of 16:29 and second overall, with Junior Ty Landphair in eighth at 17:05. Von Roden is hoping to improve her time by working on her running form.
“I’m still working on my arms and keeping pace through the middle, but I feel like that’s gotten a little better. And then just trying to keep consistent times, and also one of my goals for state is to get top 30, so hopefully we can make it.”
Von Roden will participate in the Girl’s 3A Race tomorrow morning at 10:30am, followed by the boys at 11:15am.
