An annual event is taking place in December within Dallas County.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Benevolent Association’s Shop With A Cop program is scheduled for December 7th to help kids to pick out gifts for the holiday season for their family members and themselves. According to Benevolent Association’s Administrator Tammy Irwin, the organization accepts donations throughout the year in order to assist kids in need, then pairs them with deputies and officers to go shopping. 

She explains that the Benevolent Association is currently taking applications on their website (https://dallascounty.seamlessdocs.com/f/benevolentnominationform), but encourages people to act fast because they will have to close registration once they reach an undisclosed limit of officers.
