As fall continues and winter gets closer, the illnesses that come with the season are continuing to become more prevalent as well.
Guthrie County Health Services Director Jotham Arber says that for those who are looking to get ahead of some of the regular illnesses that individuals face, like influenza and Covid, vaccines are available at Guthrie County Public Health, and through immunization clinics that they hold. He also shares other locations where residents can receive an immunization should they want one.
“All of our pharmacies in Guthrie County do a fantastic job of helping us with that too. So even though we offer it here, at clinics and do that, the MediCap in Panora is offering it every day, the Dowd’s in Guthrie Center is offering it, your MediCap in the Stuart area and then over in Adair as well. All of those pharmacies are fantastic partners offering those.”
Arber mentions that for RSV, a physician’s recommendation needs to be acquired before getting the immunization, so that it can be certain that that is the correct course of action for the individual, especially children and the elderly.
