Greene County High School cross-country coach Jeff Lamoureux has seen Noah Hinote come through time after time in his career, and last Thursday at the Class 2A State Qualifying Meet in Red Oak, he did it again. Hinote qualified individually for his third State Meet, something not done often in the Rams’ program.
Coach Lamoureux talked about his senior, and now three-time State qualifier. “I’ve sometimes used the word “grinder” because he knows what he needs to do and he and does it, he gets it done! He knows where he needs to be on the course. You’ll remember, at the (Heart of Iowa) Conference meet, he finished tenth. So then to go to the State Qualifying Meet and finish eighth, you could just tell he knew where he had to be.”
Hinote runs this Saturday in the 2A boys’ race at 2:45 p.m. north of Ft. Dodge at Kennedy Park and Lakeside Golf Course.
