Greene County goes to Monroe Friday night to play PCM in a Class 2A Round of 16 football playoff game. The Rams, 5-4, have faced other top 10 ranked teams this season, but second ranked PCM has an offense that’s hard to beat. In fact, not only are the Mustangs 9-0, but they’ve won every game by three touchdowns or more. PCM’s first round Class 2A Playoff victory last Friday over Des Moines Christian is the closet game they’ve played this season at 41-19. The Rams were 14-13 winners over that same DMC team on Oct. 18. Only twice have the Mustangs not won by more than 30 points. Only twice have the Rams scored more than 30 points, although Coach Caden Duncan’s team was impressive last Friday in its first round win at Clarinda, 30-6.
PCM averages 433 yards per game on offense, and that includes several games where the 35 point margin rule has been in effect, triggering a continuous running of the game clock. Of that yardage total, 272 is on the ground and 161 is through the air.
Game time on Friday is 7 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
