Today is the final day of  National Friends of Libraries Week, and the Perry Public Library has been highlighting the work of its Friends organization.

Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the library staff has been giving Friends of the Library group thanks all this week, as they will do fundraising and volunteering for activities. She calls them a “great boost” to the library as she is super grateful for their dedication.

“We just love this week that comes up every year, that gives us an opportunity to celebrate them. And we just appreciate those volunteers so much, all that they contribute and do for libraries.”

Farmer encourages people to visit Perry, Iowa’s Friends of the Public Library’s Facebook page as they have been sharing fun facts about libraries throughout the week, plus doing some giveaways. She extends her gratitude to the work they continue to do in order to make libraries shine bright in communities.
