Going into the next granting cycle for Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, there have been some changes on the board.

According to GGCGC Jared Taggert, Gabe Karber and Jeri Hedges were approved as new board members that replaced two outgoing board members, Lori Mannel and Rick Morain. Taggart is a Greene County native and now lives in Jefferson with his wife Laura and their three children. He works at Heartland Bank in Jefferson, is an Upper Iowa University graduate and served with the Marine Corps Reservist program from 2013-2021. He also serves with the Greene County Cattlemen’s Association, and volunteers at the Scranton Community Center and is an assistant middle school wrestling coach. 

Karber is also a Greene County native and a 1999 Jefferson-Scranton High School graduate. He moved back to Greene County in 2020 after being out of state pursuing other careers, along with his wife Allison and their two children. Both Gabe and Allison continue to do their jobs remotely. Hedges grew up in Greene County and with her husband John, they have a family farm in southwest Greene County. Jeri is an office manager for a law firm in Jefferson and they have three daughters. 

These three individuals are serving a three year term with an option to serve an additional three years on the board. GGCGC is the non-profit gaming license holder for Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson. GGCGC receives five percent of the adjusted gross revenue of the casino, which they give 4.1 percent to entities and projects within the county and the other 0.9 percent are given equally to the six contiguous counties that surround Greene County.
