The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday morning.

The Board approved the quarterly report from County Veterans Affairs Coordinator Beth Watson, in which she mentioned that the working relationship she has developed with the Veterans Affairs Coordinators of Dallas, Cass, Audubon, Greene and Adair Counties has been proving very helpful, as they all have worked together and helped one another in different situations. The Board also canceled the November 5th meeting due to it being Election Day.

County Auditor Dani Fink informed the Board that there have been a lot of people that have voted early in person, along with several absentee ballots being mailed out, with a total of roughly 1,400 ballots combined. Supervisor Maggie Armstrong shared that she had attended a really good meeting of the Heart of Iowa Community Services, which Guthrie County Public Health is a part of. She added that they had secured $107,000 from HICS for work to be done to the Public Health building to make a better space for their mental health services, while also working on a mental health area for Audubon County Public Health, and finding a location for an office to offer mental health services in Stuart.

Before the meeting was adjourned, the Board reminded everyone about a final informational meeting regarding the emergency medical services ballot measure for the November Election, that is scheduled for October 29th beginning at 7pm in the meeting room of the courthouse.
