It’s Greene County and Des Moines Christian from the home of the Lions in Urbandale tonight in first round Class 3A Region 7 volleyball at 7 o’clock. The Lions are 23-14 and are West Central Activities Conference members, while the Rams are 12-16 and Heart of Iowa Activities Conference members.

The two teams have not met in volleyball, but they just faced each other in football last Friday with the Rams winning at Linduska Field, 14-13. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s volleyball Rams have six seniors who play a lot, so continuing their high school careers is on the line each time they take the court in the postseason.

Tonight’s winner goes to Carroll on Thursday to face Kuemper Catholic, the top seed in Region 7, or Harlan Community, in a semifinal match.
