On October 18th, the Stuart Police Department announced that they had made two drug busts over the past week.

According to the press release, the department executed a search warrant at a residence of the 400 block of Southeast 6th Street on October 13th, arresting Jason Masolini on charges of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, with nine grams of methamphetamine found in the search. Masolini was subsequently booked into the Adair County Jail.

On October 16th in a separate incident, a vehicle was stopped on Interstate 80 for speeding, and a probable cause search was enacted. During the search, an illegal firearm and 4.27 pounds of methamphetamine were found in the vehicle. Maximino Mendez-Jarquin and Heather Marie Santos were booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, failure to affix a tax stamp, providing false identification information and person ineligible to carry a firearm, with Santos also being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. A third individual, Danial Pavian-Ramos was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug stamp.
