Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Greene County High School volleyball team closed out the regular season on Saturday at the Winterset Invitational. The Rams went 0-3 in matches and 2-6 in sets and are 12-16 going into a Class 3A first round Region 7 contest on Oct. 22 at Des Moines Christian School in Urbandale vs. the host Lions.

A 27-25 set one victory vs. the host Huskies was a good start for the Rams, but Winterset won the next two sets. The Rams then lost two of three to Webster City by scores of 21-15, 12-21, 9-15. Greene County lost in two sets to Red Oak by 17-21, 10-21 scores.

Coach Heisterkamp told Raccoon Valley Radio that although the Rams lost all three pool play matches, she thought the girls battled throughout the day.
