A mural will be presented and dedicated in Guthrie Center with a ribbon cutting tomorrow.

The Guthrie County Arts Council commissioned the mural from Chad Elliott, a Guthrie County native and current resident of Jefferson. Elliott focused on agriculture while creating the piece, which he dubbed the “Song of Guthrie County,” which prominently features a horse-drawn plow. The dedication and ribbon cutting will be at 4pm tomorrow at the Guthrie Center fire hall, and includes a performance of Elliott’s original song that is named after the mural, along with a free will donation meal of burgers, cheesy potatoes, baked beans and a dessert. Proceeds from the meal will help cover the cost of the installation and lighting of the mural.
