The Perry City Council is set to meet tonight in regular session.

The council will consider approving a resolution to set the 2024 fall yard waste open burn dates. Other items under consideration for approval at tonight’s meeting include appointing a new police chief, the wage for the police chief position within the City of Perry, a change order for the Iowa Street Stormwater Wetland project, pay applications for the Willis Avenue overlay project and the 2024 street repairs throughout the city. 

Additionally, there are several items to be considered for approval with the Perry Municipal Airport. A resolution for a statement of completion and final acceptance of phase one for grading and drainage of the relocation of the main runway, along with a change order and pay request; and two pay applications for phases two and three. 

The meeting is taking place tonight at 6pm inside the Towncraft Building, 1122 Willis Avenue, in Perry. Raccoon Valley Radio will have a recap of the meeting tomorrow morning.
