A Nebraska man was killed in a single vehicle crash Monday morning in Guthrie County.
According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to a passerby at 2:50am who reported a vehicle in a field near Frontier Road, just north of White Pole Road. The driver was immediately spotted after a deputy was on scene and found the body of the driver, 41-year-old Ross Ingalise of Omaha, Nebraska some 30 feet away from the 2004 Kia Optima.
According to the crash report, the deputy deduced that Ingalise was traveling north on White Pole Road when it left the roadway, as the road curved and the Optima continued straight. The deputy said in the report that the Optima continued through a ditch and struck an embankment along the side of Frontier Road. The Optima then went airborne for several yards when it hit a telephone pole and snapped it in half.
The crash report mentions that the Optima continued for several more yards until it landed in a fence row of a pasture. The deputy believes the driver was ejected and it didn’t appear as though Ingalise was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. A medical examiner pronounced Ingalise dead at the scene. Adair Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
