A reminder that today is another Author Talk with the Jefferson Public Library.

Jane Millard, library director, says retired Iowa State Patrol Trooper and Jefferson resident Bob Hurley published a book earlier this year called, “10-31: Crime in Progress.” Millard points out the book is about Hurley’s experiences of his long law enforcement career from 1979-2005. This afternoon’s program will feature Hurley as he talks about his book and will also have copies for purchase and will autograph them as well.

Millard reveals that not only is “10-31: Crime in Progress” written by a local resident, but the publisher is also from Jefferson.

“So Bob Hurley contacted Janice Harbaugh who lives here in Jefferson and who owns and is the editor of Raspberry Ridge Publishing. And so it’s pretty amazing that we have a local author and a local publisher. So if anyone out there is writing a book and need a publisher, we have one right here in town.”

The Author Talk program is at 2:30pm in the Jefferson Community Golf Course Clubhouse. The program itself is free and open to the public.
