Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Activities Director Rod Wiebers recognizes students apart of the swimming team as well as ADM’s Esports squad.

The Tigers don’t have their own dedicated swimming team, but they do partner with Waukee Schools. There are several swimmers, from ADM, that shine through during the meets including Sophomore Finlee Burns, Junior Emma Popp, and Junior Eliza Schmidt. Wiebers tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he loves that students have an opportunity to make connections through other school districts. He mentions that the Esports team is a spectacle to watch, and is astonished with the students apart of that program.

“I had an opportunity to go sit in the room and watch them compete, and it’s just a great environment. Kids that are competing in different ways, building teamwork skills, (and) communicating.”

Wiebers admires that student athletes have the ability to participate in a variety of activities, and is hoping to continue to grow that area with more in the future.
