The state of Iowa is seeing anywhere from abnormally dry to severe drought conditions.

The U.S. Drought Monitor shows that Greene, Guthrie, and Dallas counties are sitting at abnormally dry conditions. However, the east portion of Guthrie County is in a moderate drought stage. According to the National Weather Service, as of October 10th, Jefferson hasn’t witnessed any precipitation, as it normally equates to 0.91 inches during October. Guthrie Center is also at zero, when the monthly average is 1.04 inches of rain, and Perry is dry as well with October’s normal at 0.80 inches.
