The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The Board approved Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP) coverage after they heard from State Street Insurance Owner Becky Benton on the effective date coverage of ICAP, where she said that some communities have decided to amend the effective date to be a month later, ending on February 1st instead of January 1st. This allows for all necessary tasks to be completed before renewal, instead of forcing entities to rush to get everything finished in time.

The Board tabled discussion and action on the update from Northland Public Finance representative Chip Schultz as he was unable to attend and a fiscal year 2024-25 budget appropriation for the Sheriff’s Office, as Supervisor Mike Dickson was not able to attend the meeting. They also did a final review of the presentation material for the emergency medical services (EMS) ballot measure for the November election, and agreed to use them in presentations starting last Tuesday night and make adjustments as needed.
