October 7th through the 11th is National 4-H Week and there is lots for Greene County youth to do.

Greene County ISU Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says Monday is a Make It and Take It Meal with chicken enchilada casserole and a reminder for those individuals that registered for that to stop in with your crockpot and pick up the pre-assembled meals. Tuesday is Annual Leader Training and Hardaway points out that this is a required training for all 4-H leaders and volunteers to prepare for the year. Hardaway is excited to work with first through third graders with the Welding Career Camp on Wednesday.

Hardaway will also be available all week to help with Enrollment Days where families can get help with questions about how to enroll or re-enroll into 4-H and Clover Kids. She talks about two other items that are also happening all week.

“We’ll also be having a Social Media Challenge. So be sure to check out our Facebook, Greene County IA 4-H, and each day we’ll have a different theme for a Social Media Challenge where you can win a prize, if you participate. And then lastly if 4-H’ers and Clover Kids want to wear their 4-H shirts to school, post a picture and tag our Facebook page in it, and you’ll be entered to win a prize.”
