Roland-Story (Story City) was a 34-6 Class 2A District 8 high school football winner over Greene County on Friday night in Jefferson at Linduska Field. The contest was heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradiocom. The Nosemen built a 20-0 halftime lead and the road win improved the Norsemen to 2-1 in the district and 4-2 overall. The Rams lost for the second straight week to a top 10 ranked team and Coach Caden Duncan’s Rams are now 2-4 on the season and 1-2 in district play.

The lone Greene County points came early in the third quarter on a 55 yard touchdown pass from senior Crew Conner to senior Nicholas Stream. The extra point was wide right and the Rams were within 14 points. The Norsemen drove for another TD and the Norsemen led 27-6 after the third quarter and seven more fourth quarter points determined the final margin. Senior Nicholas Stream had 68 rushing yards on 24 carries for the Rams and Conner was 9-16-0 throwing the ball for150 yards and the one touchdown.

R-S ran for 364 yards, passed for 71, ,and totaled 435 yards of offense.. Sophomore running back Ben Mayzyck had 191 yards on 22 carries and three touchdowns. Senior quarterback Sam Knoll added 115 yards of seven carries and one score.
