The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Football team won in dominant fashion for their Homecoming matchup against Des Moines North on Friday.

The Tigers routed the Polar Bears by a score of 56-14 as they pick up their fifth win of the 2024 season. ADM began with the ball to start the game on their own 38 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, Tigers Junior Quarterback Hudson Shull threw a bomb to Senior Wide Receiver Corbin Reed, who raced down the left side into the endzone for 62 yards to grab an early 7-0 lead. Following a punt from Des Moines North, ADM Senior Running Back Jonathan Hatchitt captured a 21 yard touchdown to make it 14-0 Tigers. ADM would add 21 more points in the quarter (Reed six yard TD, pick-six by Inside Linebacker Grant Jansen, and five yard run by Shull) to make it 35-0 after one.

In the second quarter, Senior Brayden Rynearson garnered an interception which led to a seven yard touchdown run by Senior Running Talon Harvey to extend the lead 41-0. After the Polar Bears began a drive later in the quarter at their own six, Des Moines North QB Jadrian Naab was sacked for a safety as the Tigers would take a 43-0 advantage to the halftime break. The second half saw Senior Running Back Keaton Kier score a six yard touchdown (50-0) and Senior Cameron Forgy a three yard touchdown to put ADM up 56-0. The Tigers’ Senior Defensive Back got third interception against Naab. However, the Polar Bears scored two touchdowns late with Senior Running Back Dein Gaye, who finished with 71 rushing yards, ending the final score of 56-14.

For Des Moines North, starting QB Naab had two completions for 35 yards and three interceptions, as leading Receiver Taveon Boone had 20 yards on four receptions, and backup QB Patrick Boone had two rushes for 43 yards. ADM’s Shull had four completions for 117 yards with two passing touchdowns and one rushing, and Senior Taylor Kinney had two completions for 24 yards. Leading for the Tigers in rushing was Kier with 46 yards on four carries, and Reed racked up 103 yards off three receptions, scoring two touchdowns. Other touchdowns scored from ADM included Jansen, Harvey, and Forgy.

Des Moines North falls to 0-6 on the season as ADM improves to 5-1 as it was a special night for Homecoming. The Tigers will hit the road to Huxley this coming Friday to battle the Ballard Bombers.
