The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School’s Homecoming Royalty was announced on Thursday, as the students reflect on the night’s events.

For the first time in school history, ADM had a tie for Homecoming King, with seniors Owen Evans and Isaac Hatchitt and Soila Winter was named the Queen. Evans describes his initial reaction to being one of two kings.

“It’s awesome, like I wish everybody could win, I mean that’s just how fun it is, this has been a fun week, but yeah for real, it’s a surreal moment for sure.”

Hatchitt, the other king, encourages others to never be afraid of trying something new.

“You never know when stuff is going to happen. You might seem like it, like you don’t want to do it or that will never happen, or you don’t want to participate in something, just do it. If you have some sort of motivation to do it, just go out for it and it might change your life.”

Winter says that she was pleasantly surprised to be named Homecoming Queen, but admits that it was a goal of hers to win. She describes the impact the ADM community has had on her.

“I have a lot of people supporting me and I can feel their support and it pulls me through a lot of things actually, like school and everything. And so, just the fact that I kind of know that they do really have my back is really nice.”

All three of them are encouraging their fellow classmates to the dance tonight, which is happening in the middle school commons area from 8-10pm.
