With National 4-H Week coming up next week, Greene County ISU Extension will be kicking it off with a way to not have to cook dinner.

Greene County Extension Office Manager Cindy Adamson says there will be a Make It and Take It program scheduled for this upcoming Monday with a pre-assembled crockpot meal that she points out is a crowd pleaser.

“Yes it went over big last spring when we did it. We’re going to make, this time, chicken enchilada casserole. It’s a come and go thing. You can come in, fill your crockpot, go home and plug it in. And since it’s going to be during National 4-H Week, we’re going to offer a discount for Extension and 4-H volunteers.”

Adamson states that the Make It and Take It program takes place from 10am-noon and that all ingredients will be prepared, so dinner can be ready that evening. The regular cost for this event is $25 and the deadline to register is by this Thursday by contacting the Greene County ISU Extension Office in Jefferson at 515-386-2138
