Last week a search for a missing teen in Farnhamville ended in tragedy as law enforcement found the body and later charged an individual who is accused of murder.

Individuals with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the initial search for 17-year-old Michele “Luna” Jackson. Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office contacted him to request any available deputies to help them with the search. He notes that himself and Deputy Christopher Freshe helped with the search, as he explains all of the roles they were a part of.

“Obviously helping search and then scene security. Secure the scene to make sure that no evidence is lost or destroyed. And then I helped with the DCI (Division of Criminal Investigation) agent and the Calhoun County Attorney, looking at the scene and just trying to figure out what happened.”

Williams understands the amount of law enforcement and first responders it takes to conduct a wide-spread search and so anytime a neighboring county asks for help, he does what he can to do just that. Jackson was found dead on Monday, September 23rd and a suspect, 21-year-old Nathaniel Bevers-McGivney was charged with first degree murder.
