Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Greene County Rams volleyball team lost in three sets in Heart of Activities Conference action at Nevada to the Cubs on Thursday night. Scores were 18-25, 17-25, 18-25 as the Rams fell to 7-9 overall and 2-1 in the league. The Cubs improved to 16-5 and 4-1.

The coach said the offense looked a little different because senior setter Violet Reedy missed the match due to what was described as a minor injury. She’s expected back next week. “We had JV setters Natalee Baugh and Taylor Johnston step in to se.”

The Rams led 8-3 in set three, but the Cubs tied the set at 17-17, then controlled the scoring down the stretch. “In all, we played much better against a very strong team. Progress,” the coach added.

Senior Emma Shipley led the team in kills with six. Sophomore Bellah Johnson had 18 digs, with 16 from senior Emma Ewalt, and 11 for senior Hailey Carman. The digs totals were among the highest of the season.
