During the year, federal lawmakers in Iowa have several ways they stay in touch with constituents.

Senator Chuck Grassley says an important way he does this is by having staff members appear in every county for a set period of time to meet with the public.

“To hold what we call (mobile) office hours, where anybody can come in and bring in problems that they’re having with the government, bring in their opinions on issues, that the staff will pass on to me, or anything else that they want to do.”

Grassley mentions aside from mobile office hours, individuals can always talk with staff at the regional office, whether it is in person, over the phone, or through email. There is a mobile office hours event happening for Adair County next week, with Regional Director Noah Schrade to be at the Stuart Public Library on Friday, October 4th from 11am to 12pm.
