The Panorama Community School District is working on ways to use up the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds.

Superintendent Kasey Huebner says that in the September School Board meeting, he discussed with the Board about ESSER funds and different impacts that could be made in using it. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about what ESSER funds are.

“That’s the COVID money that essentially runs out at the end of the month, and so we talked a little about making sure that we exhaust those funds before anything else.”

Huebner mentions that the reason they are wanting to exhaust those funds is because b whatever is not used has to be sent back to the state and federal governments. He adds that they looked at using those funds in different ways to help fight learning loss.
