The 0-4 Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs football team fell to the Ballard Bombers last night at home 31-14. The Mustangs, started off on fire with an interception during the Bombers first drive in the first quarter, but the Mustang offense would not be able to capitalize on the interception. The Mustang defense held the Bombers to a field goal, until Ballard would score a touchdown on a punt that was snapped over the Mustangs resulting to a 10-0 score in the second. Dallas Center-Grimes would be marched down the field by quarterback Tate Perrin up to the 1 yard line on a 24 yard rush by Perrin, but he would be injured after the play. Engel would score for the Mustangs bringing the score to 10-7 at halftime.
Ballard would score in the third quarter bringing the score to 17-7 going into the fourth, and would score again to start the fourth quarter. The Mustangs would answer as Kolby Carpenter would score on a fumble recovery bringing the score to 24-14. The Mustang defense would not be able to keep containing the Bombers, as they would score on final touchdown to put the nail in the coffin ending the week four match up 31-14.
Dallas Center-Grimes now prepare for homecoming next week as they host the Council Bluffs Jefferson Yellow Jackets.
