The 32nd Annual Friends of the Jefferson Library Used Book Sale begins this weekend.
Library Director Jane Millard says the first day of the week-long sale starts Friday and it is for Friends members only. Individuals who are Friends of the Library members can get first pick of the items that are for purchase, and memberships are $5 and can be paid at the door that day. Then the sale goes through the following Saturday, which is also Bargain Day. Millard notes that is when people can fill a bag of books and only pay $5. She explains that a lot of the books that are included are from donations that are collected year round.
“People look forward to recycling their books. It’s a great way to share the love of reading and getting a book that doesn’t have a due date in it. So stock up for winter.”
Additionally, according to the Friends of the Jefferson Library, $755 was brought in from their special Children’s Books and Scrapbook Supplies Sale last week. She points out there are books for all ages, along with a variety of music CDs, DVDs, audio books, board games and jigsaw puzzles are for sale in the basement of the library.
