Perry football will look for their third win of the season tonight. Dewey Field will host Storm Lake and Perry tonight at 7P. Perry comes into the annual Homecoming game 2-1 while Storm Lake is 1-2. Last season, the Tornadoes picked up the 56-31 victory. Tonight’s contest could be another high scoring affair. Storm Lake has seen a lot of success throwing the football. Senior QB, Charlie Dvergsten, has already thrown for 734 yards. He also leads the team in rushing and has accounted for 9 TD’s. The Perry QB, Geren Kenney, has also seen a good amount of success. However, Kenney has done most of his damage on the ground. The senior has rushed 358 yards while passing for 240. He has also accounted for 7 touchdowns. Coach Vannornam expands on the offensive game plan tonight. “I want to see some more opportunities that we can throw the ball obviously it’s been kind of a mix every single game I think so far but you know our ground game is just I’ve been doing well with it especially with Geren the ball on his hands but I would like to see if we can you know it air it out a little bit more.” The Bluejays will try for their third win of the season tonight. The last time Perry won more than two games was in 2017. That season the Bluejays finished 4-5.
Perry plays host to Storm Lake tonight at 7P. The Perry Hy-Vee Pregame Show kicks off at 6P on KDLS and the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network.
