The Stuart Revitalization Group will be hosting their Downtown Stuart History Walk next weekend.

Individuals interested in learning more about the downtown district and its history will be able to walk around Northwest 2nd Street and talk to members who will be playing as historical figures from the community’s past. These figures include John Herriott, a Civil War veteran who built the building that The Stuart Scoop is now housed in, Earl Wise, who founded the Stuart Locker and Stuart Creamery, and A.A. Montgomery, who made cigars in the building that now houses the Stuart Fremont Theater. The walk will be led by Bob Cook, as John Herriott, and begins at the Stuart Depot 6:30pm. The walk also ends at the Stuart Depot, where there will be chili and cookies available
