Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Superintendent Greg Dufoe discusses the results he’s seen with the Teacher, Leadership, and Compensation (TLC) program.

Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley that the TLC program began in 2015 for ADM, thanks to legislation that was passed. He shares that every year, the school board will examine the results of the program. Dufoe explains that the district receives state aid to develop positions for teachers to place them in leadership positions. He names the two types of leadership roles for the program.

“Our basic positions are instructional coaches at each of our buildings and primarily in the areas of literacy and math. Secondly, we have what we call “PLC Leaders” or Professional Learning Community Team Leaders, and they really lead their grade level or content area teams for us.”

Dufoe credits the TLC program because he is grateful for the teachers that emerge from it and he is excited to continue the program in the future.
