Applications for the Adair County Cattlemen’s Association Heifer Program are open.

Adair County Iowa State University Extension Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that young 4-H and FFA members have a great opportunity with this program as they will once again award one Adair County youth with an interest free loan that they can use to buy three bred heifers of any breed of their choice. Those looking to apply need to be in 7th, 8th or 9th grade, demonstrate an interest in beef production and a commitment to their project, then participate in an in-person interview.
