The Adel Rotary Club is helping fundraise money towards a new project in the City of Adel.

Rotary Member Shirley McAdon tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Eagle Scout Austen Ireland is creating a new GaGa Ball Pit in Evans Park. She notes that the rotary club was willing to contribute with a $350 donation to assist in creating a new pit. McAdon describes the premise of GaGa Ball’s mechanics.

“It’s kind of like dodgeball. They use the ball and whoever has it tries to throw it at the legs, and then once they’re touched by the ball then they go out until the last one’s there.”

Ireland is super appreciative of the donation from the Adel Rotary Club.

“It meant a lot for me because when I was younger, my brother, in 2017, he also did a GaGa Ball Pit, so ever since that moment, I just always wanted to be just like him and make a GaGa Ball Pit at a different park. So once I started getting more donations, it meant even more because it was really happening.”

Austen shares that his brother Mitchell created the GaGa Ball Pit at Kinnick-Feller Park in Adel. He adds that the construction of the new pit in Evans Park will begin on September 21st. McAdon illustrates that there are two more that are both located at Meadow View Elementary. The money is going directly to the BSA Troop 152 Group that Ireland is apart of.
