The food pantry in Jefferson has changed its hours when it is open.

Greene County Action Resource Center Manager Shirley Haupert recently announced that the food pantry would no longer be open on Wednesdays, but just on Thursdays from 9-11:30am. She says they continue to stay busy at the food pantry, as clients remain in high numbers.

“We actually are serving more individuals now than we were a year ago. Which means the families are bigger. Instead of just two and three to a family, now we’re probably looking at more like four and five. There’s more kids, a lot more kids that are being helped.”  

Haupert adds that if people have produce to donate, or other items, to stop by the ARC Wednesday afternoons or before 9am on Thursdays and they will accept those donations.
