The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The Council approved renewing their property and liability insurance, after hearing from EMC Representative Rod Rumelhart on the annual renewal report. They also heard from City Clerk Kris Arrasmith on the Public Works report and City Hall report. She mentioned that Public Works Superintendent Darin Sloss had received two quotes from Pleva Mechanical for some repair work for the pool, but that he suggested plugging and capping the feature that was leaking, then rechecking it in the spring. The Council agreed to this plan.

Arrasmith continued that the Public Works Department’s blue dump truck had been sent to Des Moines for the new body to be put on, and that paint to repaint the pool had been ordered as well. She then shared the City Hall report, mentioning that two members are retiring from the Parks and Recreation Board, and that the Board would like to dissolve and see their focus move solely to the Aquatic Center as a committee.
