The Greene County High School cross-country teams hosted their own Ram Invitational on Thursday at Jefferson Community Golf Course until warm, but very good running conditions. For the first time this season the Rams had enough girls to qualify for a team score, and they were sixth among six teams with a team score. Senior Noah Hinote led the Rams by finishing in sixth place with a time of 18:27.60 for the five kilometers (3.1 miles.) He medaled, as did sophomore Brady Carstensen, 11th in 18:49.86, and junior Carter Hinote, who finished 14th in 19:11.26. Rounding out the Greene County point scorers were freshman Nick Black, 23rd in 20:13.28, and junior Jayden Koller, 36th in 21:08.76.

Freshman Rylee Mowrer led the girls from Greene County with a medal earning ninth place finish in 23:41.19. Sophomore Evelyn Snyder was 21st in 26:29.41, followed by senior Ava Jablonski, 30th in 28:14.47, junior Leah McCormick, 40th in 33:24.96, and freshman Cora Powers, 46th in 2:00.99.

Ogden won the boys’ team title with Panorama taking the girls’ crown. The Bulldogs scored 29 points with Denison-Schleswig at 77, Greene County 87, Southeast Valley (Gowrie) 110, South Hardin (Eldora) 117, Perry 133, and Panorama 143. West Central Valley did not qualify for a team score. The girls from Panorama scored 49 points with D-S at 54, Perry 71, Ogden 92, SE Valley 117, Greene County 119, and no team score for WCV and So. Hardin.
