The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center High School Marching Band has a busy schedule ahead.

Band Director Kyra Babcock says that they’ve already performed at one home football game, and three different parades, including the Guthrie County Fair Parade. She mentions that this year, they will not be going to Carroll Band Days, but instead will be traveling to Clarinda for their Band Jamboree.

“We were doing Carroll for a long time. Each class only had two to three bands competing every year, so we wanted to have a different experience where there were more bands in our class.”

Babcock tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the new experience will be good for the kids, especially as the Clarinda Band Jamboree is similar to a parade, but is only marching bands performing, and is much larger than other events they’ve been a part of.
