An adjustment is being made to the pick up and drop off schedule following a recent incident.
According to Perry Elementary Principal Laura Skeel, starting Monday, parents will drop off their child/children to staff members to escort them inside at 7:45am. Only students will be allowed in the building. At the end of the day, all doors to the building will remain locked as parents/guardians will be instructed to meet their child/children outside of the school by the flagpole or Circle Drive.
Skeel says any parents needing further assistance will have to do so by using the doorbell system entry at the office area. The rule change comes after an incident occurred this past Thursday morning where a parent entered the school without permission to pick up their child. Skeel reassures families that they are doing everything they can to ensure the safety of the community.
