A reminder that the Dallas County Conservation Board is hosting a fun event today.

The conservation board is inviting people to join them for the Annual Prairie Awoke Celebration at the Kuehn Conservation Area. According to Dallas County Conservation Director Curt Cable, the event observes Native American heritage, and usually more than 100 people attend.

Activities will include Native games, demonstrations, dancing, monarchs and a rehabilitated raptor. The Prairie Awoke Celebration is taking place today from 10am-7pm and is open to the public to attend for free. For more information, contact the Dallas County Conservation Board at (515)-465-3577.
