Following a successful community event that was held in Perry this past Monday, organizers have been able to take a step back and review how everything went.
With the anticipation of the University of Iowa and Iowa State University football game this Saturday, RVTV traveled to Perry to generate hype. The City of Perry was chosen as one of the five communities to host fun activities. Perry Chamber Communications Coordinator Tiffany Olejniczak tells Raccoon Valley Radio that between 1,500 and 2,000 people stopped by the celebration. She is thankful to everyone who attended.
“It was just a great day after all of the months of planning to see it all come together and to see the town enjoying themselves.”
Olejniczak points out that the chamber, along with other organizations met weekly for three months prior to Monday’s event and is appreciative of the many hands involved to help bring the special program to fruition. Some of the activities included a Perry pep rally, the Perry High School football team, a dunk tank, bounce houses, a car smashing competition from the Perry Volunteer Fire Association, plus live music from the band Rukkus and the Al Welsch Orchestra to end the night.
