A Fort Dodge woman was recently sentenced to probation for a burglary incident in Greene County.
According to court documents, 48-year-old Joy Durham pled guilty to an amended charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for possession of burglar’s tools. She had a two year prison sentence suspended and was placed on probation for one year with Boone and Greene County Probation Services.
The charge stemmed from an incident on May 30th when a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a 911 call about a suspicious person on a motorcycle at a property in the 500 block of N Avenue. The deputy found a sledgehammer and a fixed knife to the motorcycle and then saw Durham and another suspect come out of a building on the southwest side of the property.
Court documents show that the property owners were called and said the building that the suspects claimed was cracked, was actually closed and locked, and the suspects did not have permission to be on the premises.
The second suspect, 42-year-old Jesse Edwards of Shell Knob, Missouri was issued a warrant for revocation for violating pretrial release. He is charged with a Class D Felony for third degree burglary.
