The Greene County School Board recently approved to renew a contract that has been deemed a success since its inception with students and their mental health.

For the 2024-25 school year, the district is once again utilizing Classroom Clinic from Carroll. Superintendent Brett Abbotts says this is the fourth year the district has used this program, where for one afternoon per week, students can meet with licensed psychiatrists or mental health therapists from Iowa via telehealth for medication management and/or emergency situations if needed. He shares his thoughts about how this partnership has been in the past.

“They have been tremendously responsive in terms of some of the feedback that we’ve provided and really helped to really worked with us really quite nicely over the last four years. Kyle Kinne, who is our Director of Counseling Services, has really championed this for our kids and again it’s just another way that we’re providing our kind of this wrap around support, and wrap around services for our kids who really need it.”

The Greene County School Board approved at its August meeting to renew the contract for $15,000.
